Hawaiian governor declares State of Emergency over Dengue fever outbreak

Over 250 confirmed cases

Dengue fever is, like Zika virus, carried by mosquitoes. And this year, a huge outbreak of dengue fever has raised serious fears in Hawaii, where Zika virus is also present. Dengue fever is rare in Hawaii, although outbreaks have occurred in the past - but never to this extent, with over 250 confirmed cases, 46 of which are children.
