Forest Medicine

Do you think it helps?

Some of the best words in the world have no English translations. Take hygge, the Danish concept of comfort and coziness with loved ones. Don't you love it? In Japan, there is the concept of "forest medicine," which is simply healing yourself through the power of nature, wherever you are at.

Medically speaking, it could definitely have some merit. How many doctors have advised their patients to retreat to the country for better air and health in general after a life in the city? Trees themselves have even been proven to produce antimicrobial oils and other helpful compounds. For the many nature deficient people living in the West, some time in nature could help improve the quality of life, even if it's not through science.

What do you think of this idea? Would you use "forest bathing" as a route toward healing anything specific?
